Professional Membership and Competence
Cornwall Fire Risk Assessments is part of JCH Safety, an established health, safety and fire safety consultancy backed by recognised professional memberships, registration and continuing professional development.
Professional fire safety advice you can trust
Choosing a fire risk assessor should involve more than comparing prices. The assessor should have suitable qualifications, practical experience and an appropriate understanding of the type and complexity of the premises being assessed.
Cornwall Fire Risk Assessments combines responsive regional coverage with the professional experience, quality systems and wider consultancy expertise of JCH Safety.

Maintaining current professional knowledgeFire safety legislation, British Standards, government guidance and recognised industry practice continue to develop. Competence therefore requires professional knowledge to be actively maintained.
We undertake continuing professional development through technical learning, specialist training, standards updates, professional-body resources and regular review of fire safety guidance.
What does this mean for our clients?
Professional memberships are not simply badges displayed on a website. They form part of our wider commitment to competent, ethical and evidence-based consultancy.
- Assessments undertaken by a registered fire risk assessor
- Chartered health and safety competence
- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance
- Ongoing continuing professional development

- Experience across a wide range of premises
- Support from the wider JCH Safety consultancy practice
Competence should match the premises
Registration and professional membership are important indicators, but the suitability of an assessor must also be considered in relation to the individual premises.
A small shop, holiday property, school, warehouse, pub, restaurant or industrial building may each present different risks and require different levels of knowledge and experience.
Before accepting an instruction, Cornwall Fire Risk Assessments considers the use, size, occupancy, construction and apparent complexity of the premises. Where specialist investigation or advice falls outside the agreed assessment or our area of competence, this will be clearly identified.
Arrange a professional fire risk assessment
We provide independent fire risk assessments for businesses, schools, churches, pubs, restaurants, offices, shops, warehouses, workshops, holiday accommodation and residential communal areas throughout Cornwall.
Request a quotationProfessional memberships, registrations and consultant-register entries relate to the individual consultant undertaking or overseeing services through JCH Safety Ltd. Membership of a professional body does not by itself constitute approval or endorsement of a particular assessment.
